WINE & ART
Otazu is a family property located in the north of Spain, dedicated to wine, with more than 150 works of contemporary art integrated into its spaces. Favoured by a unique microclimate, it has its own protected designation of origin, D.O.P. Pago de Otazu.
All its wines are made with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Chardonnay grapes, capable of expressing the particular geography of its 93 hectares of vineyards.
Centuries of winemaking tradition, reflected in a 12th century Señorío and a century-old winery dating back to 1840, have inspired a family and a team committed to making high quality wines in an environment where wine and art merge in perfect harmony.
Otazu was recognised as ‘Best Winery Open to Tourism’ at the V Wine Tourism Awards ‘Wine Route of Spain’, a prize awarded in 2020 by the Spanish Association of Wine Cities (ACEVIN) ‘for being a winery that places the world of wine on the same cultural level as the great works of contemporary art and for expressing, in a resounding way, the union of wine with history, nature and art’.
It was also awarded the ‘A’ Prize for Collecting in 2020 by the ARCO Foundation in recognition of the work of the Otazu Foundation in the conservation and dissemination of contemporary art at the winery.
The concept of wine tourism at Otazu contains a fusion of art and wine that can be enjoyed through guided tours, paired tastings, meals or personalised events such as weddings or company meetings.
